Maximum, punctual attendance gives your child the best chance to succeed!
Maximizing attendance provides your child with the maximum chances to learn. Punctual arrival gives your child a settled start to the day and means they are fully engaged with routines. Collecting your child punctually gives them a sense of security and will mean that they are settled in school.
We are committed to supporting you to ensure your child is in every lesson. We do not authorise any holidays in term time.
The impact of absence is:

Parents are strongly advised to avoid taking their children on holiday during term time. Parents do not have an automatic right to remove their child from school during term time for the purpose of a holiday and should be made aware that if their child is absent for 10 school days they will miss 5% of their education during that academic year. Governors will not authorise absence for holiday arrangements made in term time and will therefore be marked as unauthorised absence. In such cases the school may issue a Penalty Notice.
Parents must notify school of planned absence giving the expected dates of absence for safeguarding purposes.
Each notification must clearly indicate:
- Length of the proposed leave
- Circumstances of the request
- Purpose of the leave
- The expected date of return
If a pupil fails to return on the expected date and contact with the parents has not been received, school may take the pupil off the school’s roll in compliance with the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006. This means that the child will lose their school place.
Any family having difficulty in ensuring regular and punctual attendance will be offered support from our Outreach Worker and School Attendance Team.
