St John's run a weekly football club for children in Key Stage 2 who are looking to improve their footballing skills! The club is lead by a professional football coach who provides the children with invaluable experience and advice, in every session!
At St John’s 18 children from year 4 and 5 attend skiing lessons at Chill Factor. The children are taking part in 6 weeks worth of lessons, as a result of this they will gain either their Stage 1 or Stage 2 skiing badge!
St John’s have had numerous pupils represent school in two different dodgeball tournaments. Both teams represented school brilliantly, with one of the teams finishing joint second in the School Games Values leaderboard for the event!
At St John's pupils have been learning about Jag-Tag in P.E. lessons and an after school club. Jag-Tag is a non-contact version of American Football which has exposed the children to a sport which is extremely popular in the USA!
Physical Games is a weekly club that is run for pupils in Key Stage 1. Children are able to improve their physical skills in a wide variety of games with the guidance of a sports coach.
X-Country club is run on a weekly basis and gives pupils the opportunity to represent St John's at different running events in Bury.
On Wednesday 11th December, St John’s took part in their first Cross Country event at Goshen Playing Fields. We competed against other schools from Bury in a boys and girls event. Our 11 pupils represented school superbly in unpleasant conditions!
A small group of Year 3/4 pupils were invited to take part in this Be Proud event at Bury Church of England High School. The children were challenged to complete a wide variety of events and push themselves to improve their own scores on each event. The group represented St John's excellently and really enjoyed the event!
