When St. John's is fully open to all children, there are a variety of clubs run at different times of the year, e.g football, netball, gymnastics, art and film clubs. St. John's does not charge for our clubs. There is an annual Sports Day enjoyed by all the children, to which parents are invited.
During each academic year children take part in various class assemblies and many children take part in productions through the year: Nativity Plays; Carol Services and the end of year Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly.
At certain times of the year children may be selected to represent the school at local inter-primary events including athletics, football, netball and rounders matches. St. John's uses part of the PE and Sports Grant money for support from EdStart. This money pays for qualified sports coaches to come into school and work alongside class teachers to develop our children's passion for physical activity. EdStart also organise inter-school competitions, which the children are actively encouraged to take part in.
